Rescue From Ukraine
Twelve-year- old Eugenia Drison could never have imagined she would one day be living in Israel, connecting with her Jewish roots in the Jewish homeland.
Four years ago, the Jewish Agency rescued Eugenia and her family from the war-torn Donetsk region in Ukraine and brought them to Israel.
Since arriving in Israel, Eugenia has blossomed in her new home in the promised land. She has mastered the Hebrew language and is excelling at her school in the biblical city of Acre (Akko). “I love Israel because it’s a good and beautiful country”, she says, “and I have many relatives here.” Attesting to Eugenia’s academic achievements, her teacher adds that “she is a star at our school”.
