23 year old Maya was stabbed by terrorists on her way to work
On the morning of the terrorist attack, Maya Rahimi left her home in Jerusalem and boarded the #78 bus.
Around 10AM, two Palestinian men, armed with guns and knives, stood up on the bus and went on a killing spree, murdering three passengers and injuring seven more.
Maya was among the injured. The terrorist stabbed her through the shoulder, puncturing her lungs and causing severe tissue damage.
ABOUT THE FUND
The Jewish Agency’s Fund for the Victims of Terror provides Israel’s terror victims with direct and immediate financial assistance after an attack.
The Fund’s grants help the terror-stricken families pay their hospital bills, sustain the families through periods of lost income, and help them through their process of healing with professional help. To date, the Fund has helped hundreds of Israeli families.

Maya underwent emergency surgery at Jerusalem’s “Shaare Zedek” hospital, and thankfully survived the attack. Following her surgery, however, she endured difficult months of physical and psychological therapy.
Immediately responding to Maya’s plight, the Jewish Agency’s Fund for the Victims of Terror awarded her an emergency grant to pay for her medical expenses.
The timing of this assistance was critical, before Maya received any government support.
Today, Maya bravely perseveres. She’s a media and communications student, and trains in the gym every day.
The Jewish Agency’s Fund for the victims of Terror continues to sponsor Maya’s therapy, as well as her professional training, and needed expenditures such as a laptop.
The fund’s continuous aid and support to Maya and her family, and many more terror victims like her, is made possible by the generous giving of friends from around the world.
Last year alone, the Fund distributed $425,000 of aid funds to 191 families affected by terror.
By donating to the Jewish Agency’s programs, you will be providing support to the families who need it the most.
Jewish Agency for Israel North American Council is a tax-exempt public charity in the United States under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by U.S. law.
